The mission of the Regional Chamber is to promote an environment in Northeast Indiana in which individuals, businesses and communities thrive in a global economy. We focus on the pillars of 21st Century talent, World Class Infrastructure, and a Competitive Business Climate.
Historically, Northeast Indiana has not received its fair share of resources from the state and federal governments. Rarely have we successfully coordinated our vision, and aligned a common agenda behind identified priorities that put us in the best position to succeed. the lack of a shared vision for the future in Northeast Indiana has been chronicled for more than two decades; indeed, we have seen a dramatic decline in per capita income and record unemployment across our region. If we cannot rise to the challenge of working together, our region is at great risk of falling further and further behind active participants in the global economy.
Today, there is momentum for regionalism that has seldom existed in Northeast Indiana. Vision 2020 brought together more than 1,300 citizens of our Northeast Indiana community and asked them to help us create a vision for our future. Private and public organizations have made meaningful progress toward helping members of our community realize that they must think beyond traditional political boundaries in identifying themselves and their opportunities. A well-implemented Regional Chamber can further that momentum by asking leaders from each of Northeast Indiana’s ten counties to help build the policy agenda we need to create the optimal environment for growth and development.
